Finally a mushroom of plenty - Cauliflower Fungus - Sparassis cripsa

This was a new find for me firstly a fungus literally the size of my head... MASSIVE. Secondly this is the first post to result in minus one from my xmas card list.

I was lucky enough to find this specimen at the base of a pine tree in a previous friends garden. He told me he "doesn't like mushrooms"... idiot. He was blissfully unaware of how tasty this "rubbish that he kept meaning to take care of" is. "I'll take that off your hands".

This is quite an undertaking to prepare, you think you've cleaned every nook and cranny oh there's more. Mmmmmm Nutty mushroomy and delicate is what I can report, but I shared it with a few friends so couldn't give the plate my full attention.
