Harry and His Wife - How to get a really close look at Old Harry's Rock

When launching from Poole harbor the closest attraction is Old Harry and his wife. A chalk formation jutting out from Studland aiming for the Isle of White. They are formed from the same band of chalk along with Ballard Down a long chalk cliff holding shards of chalk standing tall next to the shear cliffs of the same white rock.

The cliffs can be enjoyed from the top by footpath, but through the summer I spent as much time as possible on and around Old Harry. My boat being small was able to take advantage of the small beached cove on the north side of Harry, there are still some treacherous rocks at any tide.

You can enjoy this spot by foot on certain tides, but with the chance of getting marooned, a questionable foray in my opinion.
